Una dintre singurele mele legături cu fotbalul nu are, de fapt, nicio treabă cu jocul în sine. Insă aceasta a fost prima imagine pe care am vazut-o la Tanneries, in mijlocul Marrakeshului, locul unde cămila și vaca iși pierd pielea. Da, locul unde începe, de fapt, producția unei genți pe care o putem vedea prin bazarele din Maroc.
One of the only connection that i have with football has, actually, nothing to do with the game itself. Yet, this was the first thing i saw when i entered in Tanneries, in the medina of Marrakesh, the place where camels and cows lose their skin to lady bags or shoes and other decorations.
Înainte de vizită, auzisem prin târg că ceva lume se plânsese de mirosul pestinențial și murdăria de acolo. Imediat mi-am zis că acolo-i de mine, așa că m-am organizat și, alături de câțiva colegi de tură, am purces spre locație.
Pielăria Taneries se află in estul orașului iar acolo se poate ajunge pe jos, fără nicio problemă, din piața Jemaa El Fnaa, in aproximativ 20 minute de mers lejer.
Before the visit, i heard around people complaining about the awful smell that went around that place. Immediately thought to myself that i should definitely go there a.s.a.p. and check that place out, as it was very close to where i had my hotel. About 20 minutes of walking from Jemaa El Fnaa market.
Ce este important de reținut:
-pe drum există posibilitatea să întâlniți localnici nu tocmai binevoitori, care vă pot îndruma greșit. Țineți bine de harta pe care o aveți si mergeți după ea.
-să aveți dirhami marunțiș la voi, pentru a putea plăti ghizii de la pielărie. Ei vă vor explica procesul de prelucrare al pielii și vă vor da frunze de mentă. Eu mi le-am băgat direct in nas, pentru a putea avea mâinile libere pentru fotografii.
Pe care le-am și făcut.
What is important to know before you go there:
- on the way, there might be the case that, without your request, some local people, especially men, will start giving you fake directions. Keep to your map or GPS, i advice that as a safer precaution.
- take with you change dirhams to pay the local guides. They will explain to you „how it’s made” and all the process. I stuffed those mint leaves directly inside my nostrils, in order to have free hands to take a few pictures:
Atmosfera acolo era liniștită, la prima vedere. Deși părea ca și când tocmai ar fi dat careva o bombă acolo, locația era foarte bine organizată pe secțiuni de lucru. Eu m-am cocoțat direct pe una dintre clădirile dezafectate, oprindu-mă la etajul 2 care era proaspăt construit, de unde, după ce m-am tocmit cu 4 „băețași” marocani, am reușit să trag câteva cadre.
The calm atmosphere struck me at a first glance. Even though the place seemed like it was recently bombed, actually it was very well organised. I took the chance and climbed on one of the buildings that was under construction, up to the second level, after i bargained my way with 4 local lads. No so pleasurable, yet the view was worth it.
Singurul care, așa cum mă așteptam, a putut să suporte mirosul fără probleme, a fost Ion:
Cu siguranță am să mă întorc. Aș vrea să fac un reportaj foto despre cum arată o zi din viața bărbaților care lucrează acolo. Să vorbesc cu ei și să aflu motivul pentru care sunt, zi de zi, acolo. Știu că mi-ar trebui un mănunchi de mentă și niște nervi buni pentru a putea rezista , însă nu m-as da dusă prea repede.
Ghizii te taxează in funcție de cât de numeros este grupul pe care-l îndrumă. Pe noi ne-a costat cam 10 euro, însă nu erau mulțumiți, așa că ne-au urmărit pe stradă, la plecare, și ne-au mai cerut încă pe atat.
Cu ei trebuie să fii prietenos.
The only one that was happy with the smell was Ion.
For sure i will go back. I would love to make a piece of documentary about the life that men lead there, along with their everyday work. To talk with them and find out what is the reason that keeps them there. I know i would need 1 kilo of mint in order to survive a few hours, yet it would be worth it.
The guides ask for money. The bigger the group, the more money they ask for. It costed us around 10 Euro and still they weren’t satisfied, so they followed us on the street, as we went out of the place and asked, of course, for double.
Well, being friendly there is, for sure, a must.
